Comparing API & Australian Standards for pressure relief sizing
Depending on your company, industry or geographical location, you may need to comply with local standards for pressure relief sizing. For comparison, I have taken the time to review the Australian Standards pressure relief sizing equations (AS1271) with the American Petroleum Institute sizing equations (API520). On first glace these equations look completely different, but have some surprising results when both standards are applied to the same sizing problem. (3 min video below).
